Narrative evaluating
Impact of humanitarian projects with figures and facts are boring. And tell only half the story. The full story comes from narrative evaluation. It’s a learning journey which will fuel future projects. A stunning 70 % of care time is spent on paperwork.
Dit is een test
Narrative evaluation saves time for better quality of care for both your team and your patients. Teacher’s craftsmanship should be treasured and quality time should be freed for pupils. Evaluating with stories creates quality time for dialogue, reflection and attention. In this workshop you learn how to let stories work for you. This means you have to listen differently to understand, engage and cocreate a new narrative.

Content of the workshop
In this first post academic workshop on narrative evaluation in the Netherlands, you will learn to connect evidence-based results with lived experiences. We work with grounded theory plus practical cases and your own experiences. At the end of the workshop you will know how stories and narrative evaluating influences behaviour with sustainable impact.
During this intensive day we will make you find your own way in the world of storytelling. We work with lived and cocreated stories in workshops and exercises. Input and tasks will come your practice and your fellow attendees. The teacher, acting as an expert-moderator adds theory, research and her own 15 years of practice. The session is interactive and requires your full participation. We work with an English summary and the book Narratief Evalueren, de Gids (2018, Tesselaar & Rodermond).
You will become acquainted with the world of storytelling and narratives. Working with different impact models of change in evaluating, monitoring and communicating with stories. You experienced the power of cocreating stories. You know how to work with stories in learning from experiences and how that process influences behaviour. Once you are aware of the power of storytelling, you can use it in evaluations, monitoring and use stories for reports and in presentations.
Communication professionals, health care workers, teachers, consultants and advisors in humanitarian projects, managers and team leaders.
